¡¡FELIZ AÑO NUEVO!!

hello my friends<3

highlights of da week-
- i got to go on divisions with sweet hermana campos for a day. shes from brazil and quite possibly the most tender human! i got to go to her area and meet tons of new people that i just absolutely love! hopefully i have the chance to go back there someday:)
- we had a talent show with the ward, and me and hermana ledesma sang ¨be still my soul/calma mi alma. we have yet to take a good video of it haha but i promise its coming soon!
- we went to tata this week and bought all healthy food & threw out all of the unhealthy stuff because theres nothing like starting the new year off, healthy and it lasting for a week right;) NEW YEAR NEW ME
- this week on "what broke in hermana ledesma and hermana mcewans casa" is starring our shower, my bed, our oven, and our front door:) no worries doe we rubbed some dirt on it and moved on cuz life keeps moving on so we do too
- our favorite, emanuel is getting baptized this thursday!! turns out his mom was baptized in our church but is now just inactive. she has been really supportive with the whole thing which has been such a blessing<3
- bishop randomly called us this week and was like i need your help with something. haha and once we got there he had dulce de leche icecream waiting for us and we just sat down and chatted about the ward for a bit:) hes the best! he went on a mission to paraguay, so he understands the whole missionary life thing and is always so willing to help us with anything.
- our best friends here are the cuello family. they wash our clothes, feed us all the time, and are so sweet to us. they are pretty much who all of my videos are of:) There is hermano cuello, hermana cuello, jonathan, mateos, and peachu<3 i had the opportunity to recieve a blessing from hermano cuello and jonathan this week and it was just what i needed.
- we found 2 twins this week, both named maria and both 18. they both have 2 year old sons and they live in a shack together with no spouses. hermana ledesma and i felt the prompting to go home and gather things that we felt we no longer needed. we packaged it all up in a box and left it on their porch. we have yet to see them again but we really just want them to geel of gods love for them and how much the gosep can help them:)<3
- sundays are the best day of the week but also the hardest. we have church at 9 but before we go to church we pass for all of our new investigators that we told about church. but because people here think its a good idea to sleep until 12 no one ever comes because they are always sleeping.. its hard because we leave our house around 7:30, walk to both sides of our area, and then no one ends up coming. as missionaries we have to do our part by passing. it feels like a sacrifice to have to wake up earlier and leave earlier but ive found it to be such a blessing. i have started to appreciate church and taking the sacrament so much more because we ha ve to sacrifice a little in order to get our reward. (attending church, taking sacrament, and being spiritually fed for the week)

as you all know, before my mission and on my mission ive struggled with anxiety. it comes and goes but for some reason this week was a little harder for me. i had a really nice talk with my president and i would love to share some of the things he shared with me:) when we mess up, feel like we have failed, forgotten soemthing important, or embarass ourselves- embrace it! all anxiousness, sadness, worries etc. is self impossed. we do not need to feel this way if we just simply, embrace it! heavenly father would never give us these types of feelings. cast all of your burdens on him. he has your back, and he knows you more than anyone else. he knows what to do because he knows what is best. when we ask heavenly father "why" this and "why" that- we are questioning the lord. and he knows best right?! when we put ourselves in these situations the best possible thing to do is quite simple. go find someone to say hi to, smile to, or serve<3 often times after hard times we have a certain blessing that we want in mind. but if we simply just trust and move forward with faith, god has an even better blessing instore for us.

-hermana mcewan:) #pressforwardwithasteadfastnessinchrist
